Overview of the DB films:

DB1
Title: RETURN OF THE KILLER DUST BUNNIES
Year Released: 1989
Chief Perpetrators: Don R., Matt G., Brian W., Stephen C., Craig N.
Accomplice: Steve S.
Excuse: The five aforementioned "perpetrators" were RPI freshman who needed to do a final project for their "Art of the Film" course (taught by the late Hammet [sp?]). Steve S. was not in the course but was recruited because of his acting skills and his firm grasp of the film's target genre.
Results: Not bad for a first shot despite poor audio/video quality due primarily to low-end equipment and creative decisions that were overly ambitious in relation to time & equipment limitations.
Master Tape Gen History: VHS>VHS (not including the scenes which were capurted off the TV screen; these probably add the visual and aural equivalent of two additional VHS gens to the master).

DB2
Title: ATTACK OF THE KILLER DUST BUNNIES II: THE MUTATION
Year Released: 1991
Chief Perpetrators: Ron M., Yuan C., Tony C.
Accomplices: Steve S., Matt G.
Excuse: Perps, all of whom had been freshman-year dormitory floormates of the makers of DB1, needed a final project for their "Art of the Film" course (taught by Porush [sp?]) and decided to carry on the DB tradition. Schwalje again brought his expertise and screen presence to the affair, and Matt G. lent a hand during postproduction. Actor Steve C. reprised his DB1 role as well.
Results: Quite good. Has more action and humor than the first outing. Makes more sense, too. Benefited from more extensive planning and a significantly longer production period, not to mention more businesslike direction. A/V quality is very good due to better equipment and experience gleaned from postproduction of DB1.
Master Tape Gen History: 8mm>VHS.

DB3
Title: DUST BUNNIES 3: THE COVENANT OF DOOM
Year Released: 1992
Chief Perpetrators: Will S., Matt G.
Accomplices: Matt D., Stephen C.
Excuse: Perps had nothing better to do in the wee hours after their graduation from RPI. They had access to Steve C's camcorder and decided to "put on a show" with no prior planning. All editing was done in-camera. Actually there was no editing.
Results: Not worth discussing. This installment is best left in the vaults to rot.
Master Tape Gen History: 8mm>VHS. (Entire soundtrack, including all dialog, was re-dubbed to VHS by Will S. & Matt G. because the camera had recorded no sound during shooting.)

DB4
Title: DUST BUNNIES 4: THE SEEDS OF DDOM aka THE SILENCE OF THE BUNNIES aka THE MOTHER OF ALL SEQUELS aka AH, SCREW THE SUBTITLES
Year Released: 1992
Chief Perpetrators: Will S., Matt G.
Accomplices: Stephen C., Omar T.
Excuse: Similar to DB3, though this one was done the next night.
Results: Done as a silent film due to prior awareness of camera malfunction. The briefest of planning went into plot development & dialog card creation (we're talking 15 minutes here). All edits & effects were done in-camera. Marginally better than DB3. Dubbed musical soundtrack added ambience.
Master Tape Gen History: 8mm>VHS (Musical soundtrack dubbed to VHS).

DB5
Title: DUST BUNNIES V: DEAD MEN DON'T FART
Year Released: 1993
Chief Perpetrators: Will S., Matt G., Stephen C.
Accomplice: OmarT.
Results: Slick but silly. Very good A/V quality and reasonably decent production values. Content, however, isn't especially inspiring. "Self-indulgent" is the first of many descriptors that come to mind.
Master Tape Gen History: Hi8>VHS.

DB6
Title: DUST BUNNIES 6: THE JURASSIC TERROR
Year Released: 1997 (projected)
Chief Perpetrators: Will S., Matt G., Anthony W., Stephen C.
Accomplice: Omar T.
Results: Blockbuster city (projected).
Master Tape Gen History: Hi8>SVHS.
